    Position Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable individual for the role of Board Treasurer at our non-profit food pantry. The Board Treasurer will play a critical role in overseeing the organization's financial matters, managing budgets, financial reporting, fundraising efforts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Financial Management:

    - Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with board members and executive staff.

    - Provide regular financial reports to the board highlighting key metrics, variances from budget, cash flow projections etc.

    - Oversee the implementation of strong internal controls for managing organizational finances.

    2. Fundraising Support:

    - Work closely with fundraising committees or staff on creating strategies for fundraising campaigns/events

    - Support grant-writing efforts by offering financial expertise when necessary

    - Assist in developing donor stewardship strategies alongside other team members

    3. Compliance & Strategy

    - Ensure compliance with all relevant laws/regulations; liaison with auditors as needed

    - Collaborate closely with Accounting/Audit Committee focusing on long-term fiscal strategy/planning

    - Provide guidance on investments/financial policies etc as requested

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field preferred but not mandatory

    2.Professional experience in finance/accounting roles (e.g., treasurer/controller) is a plus.

    3.Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards ,fundraising principles ,and ability interpret/analyze financial records & statements

    4.Excellent written/oral communication skills; proficiency using MS Office suite/financial management software

    5.Ability work independently while being an effective team player
