    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant to the Executive Director to support the Executive Director with daily operations, strategic planning, and a variety of tasks essential to the smooth running of the organization. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for community-focused work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support Executive Director: Provide administrative and operational support to the Executive Director in all aspects of the organization’s operations.
    • Manage the Safe Space & Assist with Caregiving for Children: Oversee the safe and nurturing learning environment for the children supported by Obu Lamu, ensuring their care, safety, and development are prioritized. Assist with the caregiving responsibilities and support the caregiving team in maintaining a high standard of care.
    • Coordinate Strategic Planning: Aid with the development and implementation of strategic plans, proposals, and community engagement strategies.
    • Support Wellness Practices: Assist with integrating wellness practices across the organization, ensuring a balanced and holistic approach to mental health and well-being for both children and staff.
    • Proposal Writing & Reporting: Help draft proposals, grant applications, and progress reports for ongoing projects and community initiatives.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist with tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, ensuring all activities meet organizational goals.
    • Networking & Partnerships: Assist with identifying potential partners, donors, and collaborators to strengthen the organization’s reach and impact.

    Qualifications:

    • Passionate about community work: A deep commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and creating positive change.
    • Strong organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
    • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and in a team, navigating multiple areas of responsibility.
    • Prior experience in administrative roles or community-based organizations is a plus, but not required.
