    Job Description:

    As an Otolaryngology Teacher Assistant, you will assist in educating students about otolaryngology, the branch of medicine focused on the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. Your role will involve supporting instructors in delivering engaging lessons, preparing teaching materials, and promoting interest in this specialized field of medicine.

    Start Date: January 6, 2025

    Time Commitment: 2–6 hours per week

    Responsibilities:

      • Assist instructors in teaching topics such as anatomy and physiology of the ear, nose, and throat (ENT), common ENT disorders, and their treatments.
      • Help develop interactive learning modules, including clinical case studies, virtual simulations, and diagnostic exercises.
      • Provide additional support to students through one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to clarify complex ENT topics.
      • Prepare and organize lesson plans and course materials that align with curriculum goals.
      • Collaborate with instructors to grade assignments and provide constructive feedback.
      • Facilitate discussions on advancements in otolaryngology, such as hearing aids, cochlear implants, sinus surgeries, and voice therapy.
      • Manage virtual classrooms and ensure the effective use of online teaching tools and platforms.

    Qualifications:

      • Pursuing or holding a degree in Otolaryngology, Medicine, Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
      • Solid understanding of ENT anatomy, pathophysiology, and diagnostic procedures.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present medical concepts clearly and engagingly.
      • Familiarity with digital teaching tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom) and other educational platforms.
      • Prior experience in mentoring, tutoring, or educational assistance is an asset.
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in lesson planning and resource management.

    Requirements:

      • Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Check.
      • Access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with video conferencing capabilities.
      • A passion for teaching and inspiring students to explore the field of otolaryngology.
