    Description

    English Teacher for LGBTQ+ refugees

    Please note that this position is for Samantha's partner organization that supports LGBTQ+ immigrants from post-Soviet Union countries including Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Russia amongst others.

    We are looking for teachers of English who can commit to at least two 60- or 90-minute classes per week.

    Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in English; ESL certification or teaching experience is preferred.
    • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and challenges.
    • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to commit to a regular teaching schedule (e.g., weekly classes).
    • Experience with or understanding the unique challenges forced immigrants face is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Russian or any post-Soviet languages is an advantage but not required.
