    Youth Sports & STEM Board Member

    Role Summary

    The Youth Sports Science Institute (YSSI) is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of YSSI, guiding its strategic direction, and ensuring its financial sustainability. Success in this position means leveraging your expertise, networks, and skills to further YSSI’s mission of bridging sports and STEM education for underserved youth, empowering them with the tools and knowledge to succeed in academics, athletics, and beyond.

    Responsibilities

    • Strategic Oversight: Contribute to the development and implementation of YSSI’s strategic goals, ensuring alignment with its mission and long-term vision.
    • Financial Stewardship: Oversee budgets, fundraising strategies, and financial decisions to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth.
    • Advocacy and Outreach: Act as an ambassador for YSSI, promoting its work within your networks and communities to expand visibility and partnerships.
    • Governance: Provide oversight for organizational policies, compliance, and ethical standards.
    • Program Development Support: Offer insights and expertise to enhance YSSI’s innovative programs in sports, technology, and STEM education.
    • Meeting Participation: Attend quarterly board meetings and actively participate in committee work as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Skills and Expertise: Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing/communications, education, STEM, sports, technology, or legal expertise.
    • Commitment: Passion for YSSI’s mission and a willingness to dedicate time, resources, and effort to support its growth.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
