    Description

    Entryway Service Expansion VISTA

NOTE: This is not a salaried position, but rather a full time AmeriCorps VISTA position with Entryway- become a member for one year and receive a modest stipend for your work.

Outreach and expand services in Entryway’s newest communities by increasing the number of quality hiring, referring, and funding partners, to help more families find economic stability.

Entryway is a national nonprofit operating in 12 regional markets. Founded in 2014, our program restructured after the pandemic. We are seasoned professionals who operate in an entrepreneurial culture that may remind you of a start-up, with abundant opportunity to build capacity.

Entryway opens doors for individuals and families facing situational homelessness to return to economic independence. Participants receive career training, life skills, mentorship, and access to full-time employment and discounted housing opportunities with our apartment industry partners. We break down barriers so individuals can step into their true potential.

This VISTA position, like our entire team, will work remotely and can be based in one of our expanding metropolitan areas: In Arizona, Phoenix or Tucson; In Central Florida: Orlando or Tampa; In North Carolina: Charlotte or Raleigh; In South Carolina: Charleston or Greenville. Weekly all-staff video conferences keep everyone informed and offer a forum to share wins and test new ideas.

The Grants VISTA member will build capacity by increasing the number referring, hiring, and funding partners in new communities where Entryway is expanding, or launching new programs—Arizona, Central Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Columbus, Ohio which will be launched within the next six months.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be comfortable initiating conversations and building new relationships, have a strong understanding of technology tools, and an affinity for collaborating with others. We are looking for a team player who has a high standard for the quality and integrity of their work output and possesses the emotional intelligence to conduct themselves with professionalism and discretion.

This position is for one year and can begin on May 5, 2025.

The Service Expansion VISTA member will be instrumental in helping Entryway grow into new communities. The member will be an important resource to our Executive Directors who need strong partners to expand services for Entryway participants. Activities are focused on potential referring, hiring, and funding partners.

Referring partners (non-profits, trade schools, workforce training programs): Identify and qualify new partners, reach out, and build relationships and processes for participant referrals.

Hiring partners (apartment community owners and operators): Research new local hiring partners and inactive national partners, reach out to assess interest, provide warm leads to Entryway staff.

Funding Partners (corporate sponsors, grant funders, or other): Identify potential partners and create a qualified list of opportunities.

The member will work independently, but also closely with senior level leadership. We are excited to add this member to our team!
