    Description

    Project Title: International Volunteers for Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods

    Volunteer Position:

    • Economic Empowerment Volunteers

    Purpose of the Project:

    The aim of this project is to enhance the economic livelihoods of marginalized communities by providing skills training, financial literacy education, and entrepreneurship support. Volunteers will help to foster sustainable income-generating activities and improve economic opportunities, thereby contributing to poverty alleviation and financial independence for individuals and families.

    Subjects to Be Taught:

    • Financial Literacy and Budgeting
    • Microenterprise Development and Entrepreneurship
    • Savings and Investment Strategies
    • Accessing Credit and Loans for Business Growth
    • Marketing and Business Planning Skills

    Work Activities:

    • Conducting financial literacy workshops to teach budgeting, savings, and managing debt.
    • Providing entrepreneurship training to individuals looking to start or grow small businesses.
    • Assisting with the development of business plans and marketing strategies for local businesses.
    • Offering guidance on accessing microloans and other funding opportunities for businesses.
    • Supporting local entrepreneurs through mentorship and training on sustainable business practices.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Background in business, economics, finance, or a related field (preferred).
    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Interest in helping communities improve their economic situations through financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and understand their economic challenges.
    • Basic knowledge of business development and financial management.

    Volunteer Roles:

    • Financial Literacy Educator: Lead workshops on budgeting, saving, and debt management for community members.
    • Business Development Advisor: Assist individuals in developing business plans and marketing strategies to grow their small enterprises.
    • Microloan Assistance Coordinator: Help community members understand the process of applying for loans and accessing credit to finance business ventures.
    • Entrepreneurship Mentor: Provide one-on-one mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs and help them navigate the challenges of starting and running a small business.
    • Market Access Facilitator: Work with local businesses to create marketing strategies and identify new market opportunities to expand their customer base.

    Orientation & Training:

    Volunteers will receive:

    • An introduction to the project’s goals, activities, and the organization’s mission.
    • Training in financial literacy, business development, and entrepreneurship support techniques.
    • Guidance on how to engage community members effectively and provide mentorship in economic empowerment.

    Project Start Date:

    The project will commence at a mutually agreed date, with the necessary orientation and training scheduled beforehand.

    Materials to Bring With:

    • A laptop or tablet for research and preparation of educational materials.
    • Notebooks or any materials to assist in delivering workshops and tracking progress.
    • Motivation to empower others and help build a sustainable economic future for communities.
