    Become a CASA Volunteer Tutor Today

    Local children in foster care are waiting for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Volunteer Tutors. Your help ensures they receive quality, trauma-informed, accessible educational support. Tutors meet weekly with their youth, aiding learning in a supportive environment and helping them achieve educational goals, build confidence, and feel supported in school.

    Partnering with The CASA Tutor Program helps end the cycle of abuse and neglect, making a lasting difference for generations.

    Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older and have:

    • A background in teaching, tutoring, or as a paraeducator OR strong content knowledge due to their education or career and a comfort with planning, tutoring, and working with youth.
    • A willingness to complete six, 90 minute, tutor training classes and the online California mandated reporter training class.
    • The flexibility to meet with a youth once a week for approximately one hour, lesson plan for your sessions, and drive to and from their location, for an average of 10-12 hours a month.
    • A minimum one year commitment to the program, and a willingness to commit to completing the full school year with the child or youth.
