    Description

    AIGA's DC chapter seeks a Mentorship Chair to join the Board of Directors.

    Join the dynamic AIGA DC board, a team of 20+ volunteers driving local programming and communications for creatives in the vibrant DMV region! It’s your chance to shape and uplift the creative community, gaining leadership skills, making connections, and enjoying the company of an amazing group of passionate volunteers—all while attending AIGA DC events for free!

    Overview

    The Mentorship Chair leads both the SHINE program and other mentorship-based programming. 

    The SHINE Mentorship Program is a peer-to-peer months-long mentoring program designed to fertilize the career growth and professional success of emerging designers. Open applications season is late-Winter and the SHINE program runs between February and end of May. 

    General 

    • Form a SHINE committee separate from the board
    • Serve as the committee executive, and plan SHINE programming, including, but not limited to, recruiting mentors and mentees, matching, program communications, and events
    • Maintain the AIGA DC SHINE Slack channel during the SHINE mentorship season
    • Brainstorm other opportunities to create mentor relationships for mid-career applicants, if needed
    • Support various education and mentorship events
