Founding Board Member - Legal Counsel

Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated legal professional to join our founding Board of Directors. You will play a critical role in shaping the organization as a whole, as well as our legal framework, ensuring compliance, and guiding our growth. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people while contributing your expertise to a nascent organization with a powerful mission.

Responsibilities:

• Approximately 8 hrs/mo of dedication to the following:
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making for this developing nonprofit
• Advise on legal matters related to nonprofit formation, governance, and operations
• Review and develop organizational policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Assist with contract review and negotiations

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• 3+ years of legal experience (nonprofit experience a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for Dream Experiences' mission and commitment to serving underserved youth
