    AIGA's DC chapter seeks an Education Chair to join the Board of Directors.

    Join the dynamic AIGA DC board, a team of 20+ volunteers driving local programming and communications for creatives in the vibrant DMV region! It’s your chance to shape and uplift the creative community, gaining leadership skills, making connections, and enjoying the company of an amazing group of passionate volunteers—all while attending AIGA DC events for free!

    Overview

    The Education Chair is responsible for professional development programming, focused on building new skills and navigating through the design industry. They serve as a liaison between AIGA National, AIGA DC, and universitys’ Student Groups and their Faculty Advisors. They should engage students, educators, young designers, and transitioning designers to understand important program topics. 

    This role will also lead the annual Creative Review, where students, emerging, and transitioning designers are encouraged to participate to get their portfolio reviewed by a selection of seasoned, professional designers. 

    General 

    • Plans and executes programs related to education and professional development
    • Maintains a record of Student Groups’ and Faculty Advisors’ primary contacts
    • Serves as a liaison between Student Groups, Faculty Advisors, and Educators, and the DC chapter 
    • Identifies and delivers opportunities to educate the community around important design industry topics with lectures or workshops
    • Supports other members of the programming team in efforts related to education and professional development
