    Description

Volunteer Play Buddies for K-2 Children Needed for 2024-2025 School Year

The Strong National Museum of Play's Generation Two (G2) program is looking for volunteers to serve as play buddies for kindergarten through second grade children in elementary schools in East Rochester, Greece, and RCSD. We believe that play equips students with important social-emotional skills and increased self-confidence, and that the one-on-one attention of our volunteers helps kids feel valued and in-control. Volunteers commit two hours per week, and work with the same three children throughout the year. All sessions are supervised by a site coordinator, and The Strong provides all the toys, games, and craft materials for the playtime. We offer site times in the mornings and afternoons throughout the week and would be happy to match you with a time that works for your schedule.

Please reach out to Jake Dyson by phone (585-410-6318) or by email (jrdyson@museumofplay.org) for more information. We would love for you to join us in creating intergenerational friendships that make children feel seen, supported, and full of confidence for years to come.
