    Description

    At Women Watch International (WWI-Ghana) our aim is to bring goal oriented volunteer placement projects under the broad spectrum of the Millennium Development Goals to international volunteers, institutions and organizations overseas' our volunteers at a time that is convenient to you, in a manner you prefer, and at a price that you can afford in a team-based environment.

    Over 400 volunteers have volunteered with WWI-Ghana and 10 instituions/ organizations have their students/ staffs volunteered. Many more are joining us everyday. WWI-Ghana look forward to welcoming you amongst them.

    International Election Observer Volunteer Project

    The volunteer project is to offer an opportunity to international volunteers to serve as International Election Observers for Ghana's Elections 2012. The volunteer opportunity is to draw attention of the world to WWI-Ghana's peace initiative project for Ghana's Election 2012.

    In 2008 elections, 50 International Election observers participated in WWI-Ghana's peace initiative. Ghana is one of the most peaceful country's in sub-sahara Africa practicing democracy.

    Ghana has held a number of peaceful elections since returning to constitutional rule in 1992. This year's election is also going to be one of the most peaceful elections. In 2002, WWI-Ghana took a non partisan approach towards the elections and will repeat same in this year's election.

    Project Objectives

    • To give an opportuity to foreign nationals to observe a peaceful elections in Ghana.
    • To mobilize individuals, women and men from diverse organizetions/ institutions all over the world to forge strategic alliance in order to advance "WWI-Ghana's Election 2012 Peace Initiative.
    • Use a gender based approach in all aspects of conflict and peace building.
    • Promote inter-youth dialogue and education for meaningful participation and sustained involvement of young people in preventing election violence.

    Responsibilities

    Your responsibility as an election observer will be to help meet the project objectives.
