    Description

We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to join us at Obu Lamu, a community-focused initiative. The volunteer will be responsible for teaching academic subjects, engaging in creative activities like painting and dancing, caring for children who are homeschooling with us, and assisting with household duties. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, creativity, and making a positive impact on children's lives. Join us to contribute your skills and be part of a supportive community.

At Obu Lamu, we welcome volunteers into our Safe Space, offering comfortable accommodation and shared meals within a vibrant communal living environment. To sustain this arrangement and ensure our resources are directed towards the children and communities we serve, we ask volunteers to contribute $11 per day towards food and accommodation. This contribution helps maintain the space and supports the shared responsibility that allows us to create a lasting impact.

Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum stay of two weeks. During this time, they will receive basic training on our core areas of focus, including creative art therapy, blended learning methodologies, child psychology and care, and community development. This training not only supports our mission but also provides valuable skills that will enrich volunteers’ personal and professional growth, enhancing their career progression and self-development as they contribute meaningfully to our work.
