    Description

    Peace Economy Project is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual for the position of Peace and Conflict Resolution Fellow. The fellow will focus on researching peaceful alternatives to conflict, the impacts of militarism, and contributing to advocacy efforts aimed at demilitarization and global peacebuilding. The fellow will also engage in public policy initiatives, legislative advocacy, and community outreach related to disarmament and conflict resolution.

    This fellowship offers an excellent opportunity to work on global peace issues while gaining hands-on experience in research, advocacy, and policy-making.

    Responsibilities

    Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research on current global conflicts, peace treaties, disarmament efforts, and the role of militarism in exacerbating conflicts.

    • Analyze the impact of military spending on peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

    • Prepare reports, white papers, and case studies that highlight the importance of non-violent conflict resolution strategies.

    Advocacy and Policy Development:

    • Assist in drafting policy recommendations aimed at reducing military expenditures and promoting peaceful solutions to conflict.

    • Support legislative advocacy efforts by researching relevant policies and engaging with lawmakers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with international and local peace organizations on advocacy campaigns for demilitarization and disarmament.

    Community Education and Outreach:

    • Contribute to public awareness campaigns that educate communities on the benefits of conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

    • Help organize and participate in webinars, panel discussions, and public forums focused on peace and conflict resolution.

    Collaboration and Networking:

    • Build relationships with peace organizations, academic institutions, and government bodies working on conflict resolution and disarmament.

    • Attend relevant conferences and workshops to represent Peace Economy Project and build connections in the peace advocacy space.

    Qualifications

    • A passion for peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social justice.

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in peace studies, international relations, political science, or a related field.

    • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable reports and recommendations.

    • Familiarity with issues related to militarism, disarmament, and global conflicts.

    • Experience with advocacy, policy development, or legislative work is a plus.

    • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Experience in conflict resolution or peacebuilding initiatives, either in academic or professional settings.

    • Understanding of global disarmament policies and international peace treaties.

    • Knowledge of international relations and global security issues.

    • Familiarity with grassroots movements and community organizing.
