    Description

    Interacts with Patients to provide rapid testing following protocols for HIV, Hep C and Syphilis. Feel comfortable with empowering patients about their sex options and use motivational interview approach to help patients understand risk and support patients to feel good on whatever path they choose. Volunteer needs to be knowledgeable about HIV, STI, Hep C transmission, answer questions and refer patients to other services the Health Centers provide. (Information provided in the training)

    6 month Commitment minimum 

    Monday - Friday 9:00AM-1:00PM and 1:00PM-4:45PM.

    • Must be 18 years old and up.
    • Feel comfortable to work with blood samples to run rapid test.
    • Familiar with or open to learning about harm reduction and substance use. (Previous experience is NOT required)
    • Comfortability in interacting with all walks of life Patients  and talk about sex in a professional, empowerment approach. Collect data and maintain PHI information secure govern under HIPAA all the time.
    • Must follow all safety protocols and procedures of our program.
    • Availability to complete training, shadows, and observation, this usually can take up to two months before work directly with a Patient. (Without a good availability CATS won’t be a good program to volunteer)
    • Ability to serve in CATS at least twice a month.
    • Create safe sex kits
    • Other duties as assigned
