Human Rights Volunteer Program in Palestine 2024

Human Rights Volunteer Program in the West Bank in 2024: this program was developed for graduate and undergraduate students of Middle Eastern studies, Arabic studies, political sciences, scholars conducting case studies on Palestine and Israel, human aid workers and anyone who is interested in the human rights situation in the West Bank, Palestine. This volunteer program is ideal for people who are looking for volunteer opportunities in the area of Palestine, Israel or the Middle East in general.

The Excellence Center organizes the human rights volunteer program year-round and people can join our program from 1-12 weeks. Volunteers can freely decide their starting and ending dates. Visits to different human rights organizations, community centers, local actors, refugee camps, and Palestinian families among others will be organized to involve and inform participants about the current complexity of human rights conditions, applications, and issues.

The Palestinian Excellence Center works to spread awareness about the circumstances of Palestine, connect international volunteers with the Palestinian community, and help elevate the voice of millions of Palestinians. The Human Rights Program in Palestine is the perfect opportunity for those interested in gaining human rights’ work experience, operating with Palestinian law firms, working in diplomacy, and immersing themselves in Arabic culture and language.

Volunteers in the human rights program will experience the Palestinian culture first hand, engage with local Palestinians, learn colloquial Arabic, and support the Palestinian community in the city of Hebron, West Bank, Palestine.

The Impact of our Volunteer Program

Our Human Rights Volunteer program in the West Bank is well researched, targeted, and suitable for anyone who wants to gain insights into daily Palestinian legal affairs. We aim to make a long term difference for the Palestinian local community through the exchange of ideas and “walking in each other’s shoes”. Your volunteering is an opportunity to genuinely make an impact on your life as well as others including Palestinian children, refugees, youth and community members in the West Bank, Palestine.

    Human Rights Summer Volunteer Programs

For students and anyone looking for summer volunteer programs in the field of human rights, law and politics in the West Bank, this volunteer opportunity is perfect to gain experience and make a difference in participants’ lives as well as others.

    Program Description

Human Rights Volunteer Program in the West Bank: This human rights program in Palestine is knowledge based, meaning that participants will focus on building their own knowledge about human rights and its transgressions in Palestine with the help of legal experts, spreading awareness about its circumstances.

In this volunteer program, participants will work cooperatively with international organisations, law firms, and local activists on varying projects designed to help the Palestinian people. In order to accomplish this mission successfully, the Human Rights Volunteer Program in the West Bank is divided into 3 sections. The first of these being knowledge building; the second, program construction and coordination with local Palestinian actors; and third, enrolling in Arabic language course and learning about Palestinian culture and subcultures.

    Become Informed about Human Rights

The first part of this program focuses on becoming informed about human rights, the Geneva convention, and how these precedences are being violated in Palestine. In order to understand these varying and complex subjects better, participants in this program will venture into Hebron, West Bank, speaking with local organizations and actors.

These include community leaders, politicians, human rights activists, business owners and employees, law teachers, university students, and non-governmental organizations. In addition, volunteers will visit the U.N.’s headquarters in Hebron, Palestine, as well as the headquarters of other activist organizations and NGOs.

    Educational Workshop for Local Palestinians

Once participants have gained a sufficient understanding of the liberties guaranteed in the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Convention, and how they are being violated in Palestine they will begin the program’s second stage. Participants will take what they have learned in the previous stage and apply it to the creation of an educational workshop for local Palestinians. Participants will work with local organizations on their project, as well as utilize their own creative ingenuity when comprising workshop ideas.

The sky is the limit when it comes to creativity and vision! Previous ideas for workshops include creating documentaries and other visual media, conducting Q&As with local Palestinians, writing articles and pamphlets, as well as designing various forms of digital content. We encourage all participants to use their imagination when creating educational workshops.
