    Volunteer Public Relations Coordinator (Remote or On-Site)

    Creative Emajinations – Kansas City, MO

    About Us:

    Creative Emajinations is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to the arts for underserved children and youth in Kansas City. Through arts education, mentorship, and community involvement, we empower young people to reach their fullest potential. Our current project involves acquiring two properties to expand our programs and community impact.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Public Relations Coordinator to help communicate the mission and vision of Creative Emajinations to the public. This volunteer will be responsible for managing external communications, handling media relations, and representing the organization in interviews and public events. The role is critical to raising awareness of our programs and current projects, including our ongoing property acquisition campaign.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement a PR strategy to promote Creative Emajinations’ mission and initiatives.

    Act as the spokesperson for the organization in media interviews, public appearances, and community outreach.

    Draft press releases, newsletters, and public statements related to ongoing projects.

    Cultivate relationships with media outlets and influencers to increase visibility.

    Collaborate with the development team to align messaging with fundraising and project goals.

    Assist in promoting upcoming events, and initiatives including our Building Dreams Campaign ‘Heroes and Heroines for the Arts Gala’ and the ‘Sack It for Santa’ holiday event.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Experience in public relations, communications, or media relations is highly preferred.

    Ability to represent the organization professionally and passionately.

    Comfort with public speaking, media interviews, and networking.

    Experience with nonprofit organizations is a plus, but not required.

    Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple projects.

    Time Commitment:
