    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Job Description:

    A radiologist is a medical doctor specializing in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. Radiologists play a critical role in interpreting imaging studies to guide patient care and may perform image-guided procedures. Subspecialties include interventional radiology, pediatric radiology, and neuroradiology.

    Start date: January 6, 2025

    Time commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Interpret imaging studies to diagnose a wide range of conditions, from fractures to cancer.
    • Communicate findings to referring physicians and contribute to treatment planning.
    • Perform minimally invasive, image-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, catheter placements, and vascular interventions).
    • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during imaging procedures.
    • Utilize advanced imaging technology to provide accurate and timely diagnoses.
    • Stay updated on advancements in radiological technology and techniques.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases.
    • Engage in research and teaching, if working in an academic setting

    Required Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
    • Completion of a diagnostic radiology residency program (4 years).
    • Optional subspecialty fellowship training (1-2 years) in areas like interventional radiology, neuroradiology, or musculoskeletal radiology.
    • Active medical license in the practicing jurisdiction.
    • Board certification in radiology (optional but preferred).
    • Clinical experience during residency and, if applicable, fellowship training.
    • Expertise in using and interpreting various imaging modalities.
    • Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations, especially in emergency cases.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide accurate diagnoses
    • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with physicians and explain results
