    Description

    The Comfort Home Place serves, houses, and empowers individuals who have experienced domestic violence. We are looking for an experienced individual to join our board as the Legal Director. The schedule is completely flexible and will require about 5 hours of your time per week.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the organization’s legal and ethical compliance.
    • Advise on risk management, liability, and legal policies.
    • Assist with contracts, agreements, and compliance with nonprofit laws.
    • Represent the organization in legal matters when needed(Legal Services are payable if you have to represent the organization in legal proceedings).

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience practicing law, particularly in nonprofit law, contracts, or family law.
    • Familiarity with nonprofit governance and compliance.
    • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
    • Law degree and active license to practice law.
