    Job Description:

CLENT Africa is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Community Manager (Volunteer) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and nurturing our community of supporters, partners, and volunteers. You will help create a welcoming and engaged environment, both online and offline, where members feel valued, informed, and motivated to contribute to our mission. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to develop your community management skills while making a tangible impact on sustainable development in Africa.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategies to grow and engage our community across various platforms, including social media, forums, and events.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, addressing inquiries, providing support, and fostering positive relationships.
    • Create and manage content that encourages interaction, participation, and knowledge-sharing within the community.
    • Organize and host virtual and in-person events, such as webinars, discussions, and meetups, to strengthen community bonds.
    • Monitor community metrics, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to enhance community engagement and satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with other teams, including marketing, education, and volunteer management, to align community activities with organizational goals.
    • Represent CLENT Africa at community events online to build awareness and recruit new members.

    Expected Requirements:

    • Availability to dedicate at least 5 hours per week to volunteering for a minimum of 6 months (flexible hours within your availability).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for building relationships and engaging with diverse groups of people.
    • Experience in community management, social media management, or customer service is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Presentations) and familiarity with social media platforms, forums, and community management tools.
    • Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and community engagement.
    • Reliable internet access and your own computer/laptop.

How Does the Volunteer Team Work?

    • Volunteer work is done remotely, with weekly meetings to coordinate efforts and discuss progress.
    • The volunteer should use the remaining hours for their activities, working asynchronously to manage community interactions, content, and events.
    • Potential opportunities to attend or host in-person events in your region to engage with the community directly.

    Why Volunteer with Us?

    • Play a key role in building and nurturing a community dedicated to sustainability and social impact.
    • Develop and enhance your skills in community management, communication, and event planning.
    • Collaborate with a diverse and passionate team committed to making a difference in Africa.
    • Expand your professional network and gain experience in the nonprofit and social impact sectors.
    • Receive a certificate of contribution after 6 months of service.

When Shouldn't You Apply to Be a Volunteer?

    • If you don't have access to a computer/laptop and the internet.
    • If you can't commit to donating volunteer time for 5 hours per week for the next 6 months-evaluate if you're going through a period of instability before applying.
    • If you don't enjoy engaging with people or building communities.
    • If you don't feel comfortable working remotely using digital platforms like Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
