    Volunteer English Teacher in India

    We are looking for passionate individuals to come and join our exciting team in India!

    Kalkeri Sangeet Vidyalaya(KSV) is a residential school that provides education to 220 children from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. KSV offers a unique curriculum that includes academic subjects, Hindustani Classical Music, traditional dance, and drama. The school also provides free food, accommodation, and healthcare. KSV is a non-political, non-religious NGO.

    Being a volunteer at KSV is an incredibly rewarding experience and a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families here in Kalkeri.

    Role Overview

    As an English Teacher at KSV, you will teach students between the ages of six and sixteen, helping them strengthen their reading, writing, and speaking English skills. Your role will involve creating engaging, original lessons and closely monitoring students' progress.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach English according to the curriculum and timetable
    • Plan and deliver lessons to ensure effective learning
    • Motivate students through engaging, creative classes
    • Maintain a disciplined, non-violent classroom environment
    • Track and support students' overall progress
    • Organize teaching materials and foster a positive learning space
    • Prepare and assess students to evaluate their learning progress
    • Provide constructive feedback to students
    • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and community life activities

    Profile Requirements

    • Minimum commitment of 1 year
    • Strong reading, writing, and spoken English skills
    • Previous teaching experience is preferred
    • Experience in a multicultural or international environment is a plus
    • Patience, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
    • High level of creativity
    • Good physical and mental health
    • Ability to adapt to the local context with flexibility and open-mindedness
    • Genuine care for children and a passion for their development
    • Ability to work effectively in a team
    • A commitment to empowering children from underprivileged backgrounds
