    Description

    Virtual Volunteer Math Tutors

    Life Science Cares Boston, in collaboration with the Community Foundation for MetroWest, is seeking virtual math tutors (high school age and older) during the 2024-25 school year for its Education in Equity Program, a virtual after-school tutoring program aimed at enhancing mathematical skills and academic success for middle school students in Milford, MA.

    Tutors are placed in a team of three to divide and conquer three tutoring sessions per week for 10 weeks to support two students at a time. Volunteers can sign up for 1-3 sessions per week.

    The commitment:

    • Completely virtual
    • 10-week commitment/one trimester, with the option to extend to the second and third trimesters, starting Monday, September 23
    • ~1 hour commitment per week (35 minutes of direct tutoring, 25 minutes for lesson preparation)
    • 2:35-3:05PM EST
    • All lesson materials/curriculum and high-impact tutoring training will be led by Saga Education; no previous high-level math knowledge required
    • CORI/SORI background check required (background checks for out-of-state volunteers will be arranged)
