    About STEM Canada:

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Position Overview:

    The Medical Ethics and Law Teaching Assistant will help faculty teach essential topics, facilitate conversations, and guide students through the complexity of medical ethics and legal principles.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

    Starting Date: January 6, 2025

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Teaching help: Help prepare course materials, lead discussion groups, and host virtual office hours to provide additional student help.
    • Grading and feedback: Evaluate assignments and tests, offer constructive criticism, and keep academic records.
    • Resource Management: Gather and update reading materials, case studies, and additional resources for student use.
    • Class Engagement: Encourage inclusive discussions about complicated ethical challenges, legal case studies, and varied opinions.
    • Research Assistance: Assist in studying current issues in medical ethics and legislation to improve course material.

    Qualifications:

    • A bachelor's degree in medical ethics, law, healthcare, or a related discipline is required; graduate students are preferred.
    • Strong awareness of healthcare's ethical concepts and legal systems.
    • Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is useful.
    • The ability to communicate complex issues and captivate various groups.
    • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
    • Expertise in using virtual learning platforms and collaboration technologies.
