    Position Summary

    We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager who will be responsible for planning and implementing SW Sisterhood's social media strategy to increase our visibility with an initial focus on building community among our target audiences. 

    This role is pivotal to engaging our community, raising awareness about our work, expanding membership, and mobilizing volunteer support for our initiatives on social media platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about community outreach and engagement, skilled in social media strategy and content creation, and eager to make a meaningful impact.

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for all platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram) aligned with our organization's goals and messaging

    • Create, or oversee the creation of, compelling, engaging, informative, and timely content, including posts, graphics, videos, and stories, to highlight our initiatives, events, and successes on social media in alignment with SW Sisterhood's brand and image

    • Capture photos and short videos to publish on social media platforms

    • Create video and graphics

    • Translate board members' ideas and objectives into creative and engaging content.

    • Coordinate social media content with other outreach efforts

    • Engage with our community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and respectful manner

    • Monitor social media trends and leverage these insights to increase our reach and engagement

    • Analyze and report on social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement

    • Stay informed about issues affecting Muslim communities in Tucson, Arizona, the Southwest, and the U.S. and ensure our social media content reflects and supports their needs and rights

    • Ensure brand consistency across all social media platforms

    • Post events and maintain Google calendar, embedded in website

    • Perform any other duties as appropriate


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in managing social media platforms in a professional or advocacy-focused setting

    • Certificates or training in digital marketing and social media management

    • Strong knowledge of major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and WhatsApp

    • Passion for building community on social media platforms.

    • Understanding of social media trends, analytics, and best practices

    • Excellent written and visual communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues in a clear, compelling, and relatable manner

    • Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to generate new ideas to engage and grow our online community

    • Knowledge of or strong interest in social issues, particularly those affecting Muslim communities in the U.S.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Time management skills and the ability to find creative solutions

    • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML

    • Knowledge of a language other than English (Spanish, Arabic, Kurdish, Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Urdu) highly desireable
