    Description

    Volunteer Program Chair – Nonprofit Board Member

    Are you a visionary leader passionate about creating lasting community impact? Join our nonprofit organization as a Volunteer Program Chair! In this vital board role, you’ll provide strategic oversight and support to our Program Managers, ensuring the success and alignment of our initiatives with the organization’s mission.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and provide guidance to Program Managers for the following programs:
      • Student Impact Center: Empowering students with resources and mentorship.
      • Free Impact Little Library: Promoting literacy through free community book access.
      • Family Advocacy Support Services: Supporting families with resources and advocacy.
      • Humanity First Distribution: Delivering essential items to individuals in need.
    • Ensure all programs align with the organization’s mission, goals, and values.
    • Monitor program performance and effectiveness through regular updates from Program Managers.
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to set strategic goals for programs.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between program teams and the board.
    • Assist in recruiting, mentoring, and supporting Program Managers and volunteers.
    • Present program updates and recommendations at board meetings.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Experience in program management, nonprofit leadership, or a related field (preferred but not required).
    • Ability to oversee multiple projects and teams effectively.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Passion for community service and dedication to our mission.

    Time Commitment:

    This role requires approximately 10-15 hours per month, including attendance at board meetings, program reviews, and collaboration with Program Managers.
