2024 Summer Camp Graduation Ceremony Volunteer

About York Region Educational Services and this Opportunity:

York Region Educational Services (YRES) is a not-for-profit organization that provides individuals in the vicinity of York Region with free or affordable educational resources in a safe and supportive environment that inspires, motivates, and helps set the foundation for personal growth. We are thrilled to host our Summer Camp Graduation Ceremony for our campers at the Fairview Library Theater, and we are seeking volunteers that are interested in supporting this program.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

• Ensure attendees are safe and supervised
• Communicate with attendees, parents (occasionally), and other staff members
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the library
• Help manage any disciplinary and other conflicts that may arise

Time commitment:

• Celebration on August 18th from 12:30 pm to 4:00pm
• Your commitment must be by the day

Ceremony location: Fairview Library Theatre (35 Fairview Mall Drive, Toronto, ON M2J 4S4)

A great candidate for this position will possess the following: 

• Must be 14+ years of age
• At least 3 months of experience working with children, preferred
• Communication and leadership skills
• Self-management skills and the ability to demonstrate responsible, ethical, and professional conduct – YOU are the role model 
• Enthusiasm and passion towards working with children and youth
