    About Wekume

    Wekume, which translates to "Protect Yourself" in Luganda, is a volunteer-driven startup initiative focused on enhancing reproductive health among university students in Uganda. The organization provides essential reproductive health services and information through a mobile application, effectively addressing stigma, limited access to services, and misinformation. Key features of the application include SafeChat, which facilitates anonymous consultations, QuickTest, a diagnostic tool, a marketplace, and various innovative resources designed to empower students to make informed health decisions.

    As a developing startup, Wekume relies on passionate, self-motivated individuals to facilitate its growth and development. All roles within the organization are volunteer-based and remote, offering a significant opportunity for individuals to contribute to a transformative mission that positively impacts lives.

    Role Overview:

    The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for creating and executing strategies to increase Wekume's visibility, attract new app users, and engage with stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote Wekume’s services.
    • Identify and engage with target audiences, including students and partner organizations.
    • Create content (blogs, emails, videos) to raise awareness about reproductive health.
    • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and suggest improvements.

    Requirements:

    1. Experience or interest in marketing or communications.
    2. Strong understanding of digital marketing tools like social media, email campaigns, and analytics.
    3. Creativity and passion for improving reproductive health outcomes.
    4. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
