    Organization: DEFEND (Nonprofit) and 65square

    Position: We are building a team that will produce quality training materials (videos and digital items) for our various teams and new team members.

    Location: Remote (Weekly Zoom Meetings)

    About Us:

    DEFEND is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing risks for children and vulnerable people online. We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users.

    Role Description:

    The Training Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our staff and volunteers. This role requires a passionate individual who can engage diverse audiences and promote a culture of learning within the organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Development: Design and develop training programs tailored to the needs of staff and volunteers. This includes creating instructional materials, workshops, and online courses.
    • Needs Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify training needs across various departments. Collaborate with team leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Facilitation: Lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars. Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
    • Evaluation: Implement evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Gather feedback from participants to continuously improve offerings.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate training initiatives into overall organizational strategies. Partner with external organizations when necessary for specialized training opportunities.
    • Reporting: Maintain records of training activities and participant progress. Prepare reports for management on training outcomes and areas for improvement.

    Qualifications:

    • MUST be 18 years and above.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, or related field.
    • Experience in training or instructional design, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in using technology for training delivery (e.g., Learning Management Systems).
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

    • Empathy: Understanding the unique challenges faced by our staff and volunteers.
    • Adaptability: Ability to adjust training methods based on participant feedback and changing organizational needs.
    • Open-mindedness: Willingness to embrace new ideas and approaches in training methodologies.
