    Description

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a 130-year-old settlement house widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers. Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant children, the Neighborhood House now serves 16,000 people in need each year through a wide array of effective and integrated services--social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness.

Located in the Park Avenue Armory, our Women's Mental Health Shelter is a 24-hour program that addresses the critical issues facing homeless women age 45-and-over with severe and persistent mental illness. Volunteers will have a direct impact on and connection with the women by working side-by-side with our staff to serve healthy and delicious meals prepared by our cooks.

The time commitment involves volunteering for at least one shift per week:

    Breakfast, 7:00am-8:00am, Lunch, 11:45am-12:45pm or Dinner, 5:15pm-6:15pm.

To apply for this opportunity, please contact Anthony Snowden, Volunteer Director at asnowden@lenoxhill.org or 212-218-0487.
