About Technolochicas:

Technolochicas is a groundbreaking initiative designed to inspire and empower young students aged 11-17 to explore and pursue careers in Computer Science. Through a series of dynamic and engaging courses ranging from website development, app creation, robotics, to artificial intelligence, Technolochicas aims to ignite a passion for technology and innovation in the hearts of these future tech leaders.

Role Summary:

As a Technolochicas Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the experiences and futures of our bright young participants. You will leverage your knowledge and enthusiasm for STEM to guide students through our curriculum, fostering a supportive and inspirational learning environment. Your commitment will not only contribute to their technical skill development but also empower them to see themselves as capable and confident individuals in the tech world.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and facilitate a minimum of 2-hour classes, ensuring a supportive, engaging, and effective learning environment.
• Serve as an inspirational role model, sharing your journey and experiences in STEM to motivate participants.
• Collaborate with Technolochicas staff and local community and school partners to coordinate course schedules and logistics.
• Participate in a short training program designed to equip you with the tools and resources needed for a successful mentorship experience.
• Adhere to additional screening requirements as mandated by local community and school partners.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in a STEM-related field.
• Passionate about technology, education, and mentorship.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
• Previous teaching or mentorship experience is a plus but not required.
• Must be based in one of the cities at top for the duration of the program.
