    Treasurer

    The Liberated Arts Movement is a collective of artists, educators and organizers dedicated to serving historically marginalized groups through creative, mindful and civically engaged programming. We are looking for qualified, passionate and resourceful board members to serve our mission, guard our vision and help us take our impact to the next level.

    Role Description

    Community is important to us; both internally and externally. We are looking for co-creators that are growing or established experts in the respective fields that will govern and protect the vision and mission of the Liberated Arts Movement as board members. This role is a 1 year volunteer position with potential for a two year renewal and will serve alongside other founding board members and the Executive Director, Tara Levy.

    Responsibilities

    The Liberated Arts Movement facilitates a variety of workshops, programs and services that benefit the community. Our 2025 programming goal is to have 10-12 creative arts and community oriented programs and launch our education initiative, Liberated Writers. As Treasurer, you will be responsible for fiscal security, sustainability and development of the Liberated Arts Movement. You will also be responsible for creating a clear budget and maintaining funds for program development and execution, staffing and tax planning for the Liberated Arts Movement.

    This role would be responsible for:

    • Develop a clear and comprehensive budget that supports the programming established Liberated Arts Movement
    • Prepare quarterly financial reports for board members to keep programming informed of fiscal status
    • Sourcing and identifying potential grants, partners, sponsors and funders to develop funds for programming and staffing for Liberated Arts Movement
    • Securely maintain and organize financial documents to ensure ease of access for grant and tax planning
    • Identify and communicate upcoming grants and funding
    • Raising funds for the organization to assist with program execution and expansion
    • Acting as an Ambassador and advocate for the Liberated Arts Movement mission.
    • Expected to attend full team board meetings once a month and individual meeting with Executive Director, once a month
    • Expected to attend and lead at least 2-3 Liberated Arts events for the year

    Qualifications

    • Must have a Bachelor's degree, degree in finance preferred.
    • At least 2 to 3 years of demonstrated leadership/team leadership experience
    • At least 1 year in a previous board member role or in a non profit role
    • Strong understanding of marginalized communities and their needs
    • Well spoken and has a clear passion and connection to the mission & vision of Liberated Arts Movement
    • At least 2-3 years of experience with fundraising, budgeting, budget planning, business tax planning and financial development for nonprofits
    • Prior experience in Education, Creative Arts, Development or Nonprofit preferred.
