    Cook/Assistant Cook

    Monkton Wyld Court is seeking an experienced cook/assistant cook . This position comes with accommodation, all meals, and a monthly wage. Volunteering hours are 9-6pm (with 2 hours break).

    5 days a week, with 2 days off.

    Duties include:

    • Plan and produce high quality, healthy and exciting vegetarian lunches and evening meals as well as any other catering required for community, volunteers and guests
    • Liaise with the Garden and Kitchen Coordinators for best use of produce both in meals and through preserving to minimise waste and maximise value
    • Have a knowledge of special dietary requirements such as vegan and gluten-free and be able to cook for them as and when necessary
    • Work with the volunteers and be able to prioritise, delegate, explain and oversee jobs as necessary
    • Comply with the food safety policy, including following cleaning schedules, checking equipment, ensuring a strict stock rotation and leftover usage system
    • Carry out other necessary duties and cover other roles as required from time to time and participate in shared community tasks
