    Volunteer with Dyslexia Tutoring Program

JUST ONE HOUR A WEEK FROM YOU MAKES A LIFETIME OF DIFFERENCE FOR THEM!

Dyslexia Tutoring Program provides free one-on-one tutoring, professional assessments, and other services to low-income children and adults with dyslexia or language-based differences in greater Baltimore. Since 1985, we have helped thousands of individuals learn how to read. All services are free to participants, and all tutors are volunteers.

WE HAVE TWO UPCOMING ORTON GILLINGHAM TUTOR TRAINING COURSES COMING IN 2025 (see details below).

Our Orton Gillingham training, worth over $1000, is provided FREE to volunteers in return for a commitment to tutor a student in our program one hour per week for 60 hours. This 30 hour, Level I Orton-Gillingham course teaches you the structured, multisensory literacy skills you'll need to tutor a student with a dyslexic learning style and help them learn how to read. DTP provides all materials and supplies and you'll receive ongoing support through monthly mentoring sessions, periodic workshops, and dedicated staff to help you and your student succeed!

Help our students gain one of the most basic and important life skills they'll ever need - the ability to read.
