    Volunteer as an English Teacher in Rural India with *Free Accommodation*

    Kerala Volunteer is a dedicated volunteer program that connects passionate individuals with the opportunity to teach English at the Rural Reconstruction Upper Primary (R.R.U.P.) School in Kerala, India. Our mission is not only to enrich the lives of the children through education but also to provide volunteers with an authentic and rewarding experience in rural India without charging any fees.

    Role Overview:

    As a Volunteer English Teacher at R.R.U.P. School, you will play a pivotal role in fostering English language proficiency among students from low to middle-income families. You will primarily be responsible for teaching three 45-minute classes per day, one for each grade, from Monday to Friday. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage with students outside of the classroom, sharing your hobbies and interests to create a dynamic learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conducting six English classes per day, tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of students across different grades.
    • Collaborating with Kerala Volunteer support staff for lesson planning and implementation, ensuring engaging and effective teaching methods.
    • Providing additional support to other teachers with various projects as needed.
    • Spending quality time with students outside of class hours, participating in extracurricular activities and sharing your interests and expertise.
    • Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that inspires students to excel in English language skills.

    Requirements:

    • Fluency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Passion for teaching and empowering students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to varying learning styles and proficiency levels.
    • Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with school staff and fellow volunteers.
    • Prior teaching experience or relevant qualifications preferred but not mandatory.

    Time Commitment:

    • Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 4 pm, with a mid-day break for lunch.
    • Total of six 30-minute classes per day, with ample time for lesson preparation and free time.
