    Description

Technology Access Program at Mystic Valley Elder Services

The Technology Access Program or “TAP” helps bridge the gap between older adults and technology. “TAP Trainers” are volunteers who help older adults connect to the Internet and set up their devices, teach them how to use specific apps or

features, and troubleshoot problems when they arise. Showing older adults how to connect to the internet and use digital devices, such as smartphones and tablets, can help them connect with family, friends, and healthcare

providers; stay informed about the latest news and trends; monitor health and wellness (e.g., ordering prescription medications, participating in telehealth visits, etc.); access transportation (e.g., requesting rides through Uber,

Lyft, etc.); access food (e.g., shopping online for groceries, ordering meals from food delivery services); access entertainment (e.g., listening to music, playing games, watching TV shows and movies, etc.); take classes; and most

    importantly…. provide peace of mind!

TAP Trainers can work remotely to create content for the program, such as tip sheets and how-to guides, as well as help to conduct in-person trainings to older adults in our service area.
