    Description

Teach English to Immigrants and Refugees - Midland Library

Torus offers free drop-in English classes for adult learners of English at sites across the Portland metro area. Our classes are high energy and multi-level. We often have students from five or six different language backgrounds in a given class. As a teacher, our classes are challenging, rewarding, and a lot of fun.

You don’t need any background as an ESOL teacher to join our team. Torus offers a comprehensive training for aspiring teachers. But we also need volunteers to help our classes run smoothly.

    Join us to:

    • Learn how to teach ESOL
    • Improve your teaching skills
    • Develop intercultural skills
    • Make new connections in your community

The first step is to visit a class to learn first hand what we’re all about. Contact us to get connected today!

Note: this listing is for our Fall 2024 classes at the Midland branch of the Multnomah County Library, which meet Wednesday evenings, 6-7:30 pm from November 6th through December 11th. We teach at other locations as well - check our website for the current line-up.
