    Description

    Mental Filmness Social Media Assistant

The Mental Filmness Film Festival seeks volunteers who can write short and engaging pieces about mental health. The goal is to expand the content and reach of our social media platforms and to offer a variety of diverse voices addressing the topic of mental health.

Though the focus of our social media during the month of October is on our film festival, we'd like to keep media content active all year round to continue to engage with our filmmakers and audience. We would like content that supports our mission of breaking stigma and stereotypes surrounding mental illness. These short pieces about mental health will be posted on our Twitter or Facebook account and on our website blog to continue to connect with our community and spread mental health awareness and empathy all year long.

Expectations for the pieces are flexible and open-ended---they may be drawn from personal experience, research, media, humor---the possibilities are endless. The expectation is flexible, but 2-3 pieces a week of 250+ words would be an ideal output if we have enough diverse voices writing.

Experience with professional writing, mental health, or social media promotion is desirable but not required. The minimum qualification is a passion for writing and mental health advocacy.
