    Volunteer Position: High School Teachers

    Location: Mukono, Uganda

    Organization: Candle Light Foundation

    Duration: Flexible (2 weeks to 12 months)

    Start Date: Rolling basis

At Candle Light High School, we aim to bridge the education gap by providing quality secondary education to students in underserved areas. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in inspiring and equipping young minds for a brighter future.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking passionate and skilled volunteers to support high school education in a variety of subjects. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on students at a critical stage in their academic and personal development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Subject Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Sciences, History, Geography, or Entrepreneurship.

    Classroom Support: Assist in managing classes, offering individualized attention, and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

    Curriculum Enrichment: Develop teaching aids and introduce creative methods to enhance students’ understanding and performance.

    Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, encouraging them to explore their talents and career aspirations.

    Extracurricular Activities: Lead or support activities like debates, sports, arts, music, or community projects to foster well-rounded development.

    Collaboration: Work closely with local teachers and staff to share skills, exchange knowledge, and strengthen the school’s academic programs.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    A background in teaching or expertise in a specific subject area (preferred but not mandatory).

    A passion for working with teenagers and supporting their growth.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Adaptability, patience, and the ability to work in a resource-limited setting.

    Cultural sensitivity and an openness to learning about local practices and traditions.
