    Description

Patient Experience for Students - SW, pre-med

Hackensack Meridian Hospice is now accepting volunteers taking a gap year before medical school or students who are looking for a healthcare learning experience. Volunteers, at least 18 years old, gain valuable healthcare experience by providing bedside companionship to patients suffering from a life-limiting illness.

Hackensack Meridian Hospice provides service to patients primarily in their homes; therefore, reliable transportation is required. Visits are typically 1-2 hours once a week based on your availability. Students must be available during the academic year. References will be provided after completing one year and 50 hours of service. For more information, contact Hospice.Volunteer@HMHN.org.
