The Volunteer with Palestinian Children 2025 program provides a meaningful opportunity for individuals from all walks of life—students, professionals, retirees, social workers, teachers, and anyone passionate about making a difference in children's lives. Whether you're a native English speaker, a non-native speaker, or simply interested in childhood education, this program offers an immersive cultural experience while positively impacting Palestinian children.

Flexible Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers can join the program anytime during the year, for durations ranging from 1 to 12 weeks. Start and end dates are flexible to fit your availability, making it accessible for people with different schedules. Applicants of all majors, professions, and nationalities are welcome, provided they are at least 18 years old.

Make a Lasting Impact

As a volunteer in Hebron, West Bank, you will work with children in a variety of settings, including:

• Engage in Palestine – The Excellence Center

• Organizations for children with special needs
• Palestinian Refugee camps

Your primary responsibility will involve designing and conducting workshops tailored to the needs of Palestinian children. Previous workshops have included:

• Drama and theater for refugees
• Fun days and recreational activities for children in refugee camps
• Conversational English workshops
• Arts and music for children with disabilities
• Media training and journalism for students
• Environmental and science camps
• First aid and health education

You’ll have the freedom to bring your own creative ideas for workshops, and our team will support you with the necessary resources, connections, and guidance.

Cultural Immersion & Arabic Lessons

Volunteering in Hebron goes beyond teaching. You will be fully immersed in Palestinian culture, daily life, and history. Volunteers can choose to live with a Palestinian host family or in a shared dorm at the Center, ensuring an authentic experience. Interacting with children also provides a playful and natural way to learn the Palestinian dialect of Arabic.

Additionally, all volunteers receive free Arabic language lessons (3 hours per week), helping you develop valuable language skills to engage with the local community more effectively.

Engage with the Community

Your time in Palestine will include visits to cultural and political sites, refugee camps, human rights organizations, local universities, businesses, and natural landmarks. These experiences provide a well-rounded understanding of Palestinian life, culture, and challenges, enriching your volunteer journey.

Ensuring a Safe Environment for Children

Volunteers working with children are required to complete a safeguarding interview to ensure they understand their responsibilities and the protocols in place to protect children from abuse. The Excellence Center provides comprehensive support, including connections to local NGOs, schools, and community organizations, ensuring that volunteers have everything they need for a successful experience.
