Responsibilities
Fully support the mission and goals of the Greenways Foundation and serve as an ambassador for the organization within your workplace, community, and affiliation with other organizations.
Provide their expertise in one of 3 ways:
Serve as the Chair on one Standing or Special committee OR
Participate on at least 2 Standing or Special committees as a member OR
Serve as an Officer.
Each board member shall make an annual personal financial contribution.
Purchase of a Greenways Foundation License plate is strongly encouraged.
Actively fundraise for the Foundation.
Board members are expected to disclose, to the Board of Directors, any conflicts of interest related to their ability to fundraise for the Greenways Foundation (see below).
Board members are asked to provide names and complete contact information for potential new donors and sponsors each year.
Assist Greenways Foundation Board and Executive Director in communicating the foundation’s role outside our organization. This includes required participation and attendance at the Annual Fundraising Luncheon and at least one (1) additional volunteer event every year.
Attend all bimonthly board meetings.
Attendance at annual planning/ retreat meeting(s) is required. If unable to attend any meeting, notify the Board Chair a minimum of 2 days prior to the meeting. Whether in attendance or not, read the agenda, minutes and reports to stay abreast of what is happening.
Commit to gain proficiency in skills and/or software tools used to carry out committee responsibilities and collaborate/ communicate with Committee members and the Board of Directors, as necessary, such as Mail Merge, Google Drive, EventBrite, MailChimp, etc.
Promptly respond to requests for information or feedback via emails and phone calls from the President of the Board and Committee Chairs.
Assist in the development of grant applications as needed.
If a board member misses more than 3 regularly scheduled meetings in a fiscal year, the Board Chair reserves the right to ask the member to step down.
Qualifications
Must reside, be a property owner, or be employed within the State of Indiana.
Must have a passion for trails.
Special consideration will be made for individuals with a background in finance, experience raising funds through the BMV license plate program, and those with other fundraising experience.
