    Description

    About the Role

Fruitslice is newly established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. As we take this exciting step forward, we are looking for passionate and motivated Grants Coordinators to join our development team. This volunteer position is an incredible opportunity to help Fruitslice secure funding, grow our impact, and solidify our foundation as a Queer-centered literary arts organization.

As a Grants Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in researching, writing, and managing grant opportunities to support Fruitslice’s mission. Your work will directly contribute to uplifting Queer voices while helping us sustain and expand our operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with Fruitslice’s mission and goals.
    • Write compelling, mission-driven grant proposals tailored to funders’ requirements.
    • Collaborate with team members to gather program data and narratives for proposals.
    • Develop and maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting.
    • Assist in crafting grant reports to demonstrate impact and accountability to funders.
    • Help establish systems for managing and streamlining grant workflows.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Experience in grant writing, development, or nonprofit fundraising is preferred but not required.
    • Strong writing and research skills, with attention to detail and storytelling ability.
    • Self-starters who can manage tasks independently and meet deadlines without constant oversight.
    • Excitement about building sustainable funding pipelines for a growing nonprofit.
    • Passion for uplifting Queer communities and supporting radical, equity-driven arts initiatives.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 10-20 hours per month, with flexibility depending on the grant cycle.
    • Initial commitment of 6 months, with potential for a longer-term role as Fruitslice grows.
    • Fully remote position with occasional team meetings over Zoom.

    Why This Role is Valuable

This role offers an incredible opportunity to:

    • Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.
    • Learn the ins and outs of grant writing and funding strategies for a Queer arts organization.
    • Be part of a passionate team working to amplify marginalized voices.
    • Contribute to building a lasting foundation for a mission-driven nonprofit.

    Why Join Fruitslice?

Fruitslice is a Queer-run quarterly publication that features work exclusively by and for our community. Through storytelling and living archives, we amplify marginalized voices and document our present in order to build liberatory futures. As a volunteer, you’ll have the chance to make a tangible impact on our work and help secure the resources needed to sustain and grow our organization.

    We Especially Encourage

Applications from QTBIPOC individuals, disabled people, and others from marginalized communities. Fruitslice is committed to creating an inclusive and celebratory environment that reflects the diversity of the voices we amplify.
