    About STEM Canada

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Position Overview:

    The Renal Physiology Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching courses related to renal physiology, assisting students, and ensuring effective learning experiences.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities:

      • Teaching Support: Lead discussion sessions, hold office hours, and provide support for lectures on renal physiology topics.
      • Grading: Grade assignments and exams, and maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
      • Student Assistance: Help students understand complex concepts related to renal physiology through one-on-one or group sessions.
      • Content Development: Assist in preparing course materials, quizzes, and study guides.
      • Resource Management: Ensure that all educational resources are up-to-date and accessible to students.

    Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Physiology, or a related field; graduate students in medical or biological sciences are preferred.
      • Strong understanding of renal physiology concepts and mechanisms.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
      • Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse learning audiences.
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
