    Volunteer Creative Educator (Remote) – Special Needs Focus

    Location: Remote

    Commitment: 3 months (renewable)

    Reports to: Creative Education Programs Manager

    About Obu Lamu

    Obu Lamu is a community-driven initiative dedicated to holistic education, creative learning, and social impact. We focus on empowering children through innovative teaching methods that nurture their unique abilities.

    About the Role

    We are seeking two volunteer Creative Educators with experience in teaching children with Autism and ADHD. This is a remote volunteer position requiring at least 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Educators will work closely with our Creative Education Programs Manager to develop engaging, individualized lesson plans that cater to neurodiverse learners.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and facilitate creative, adaptive learning experiences for children with Autism and ADHD.
    • Use interactive and sensory-based teaching methods to enhance engagement.
    • Support students in developing communication, social, and cognitive skills.
    • Collaborate with the Programs Manager to align lesson plans with our holistic education approach.
    • Provide weekly progress reports on student learning and engagement.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience teaching children with Autism and/or ADHD.
    • Background in special needs education, creative arts, or psychology is a plus.
    • Strong skills in adapted teaching strategies and behavior management.
    • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
    • Passion for inclusive education and creative learning.
