    Volunteer Opportunity: Project Coordinator

    The United States Youth Forum (USYF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering historically marginalized and underserved young people to engage in youth-led civic initiatives. We strive to connect these underserved young individuals with their communities, encourage productive civic participation, and inspire them to create the changes they wish to see in the world, regardless of their race, political affiliation, gender, or socioeconomic status.

    Role Description:

    As the Project Coordinator, you will play a vital role in keeping our team and projects organized, on task, and meeting deadlines. You will assist team members in breaking their projects down into manageable tasks, prioritizing those tasks, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking hands-on experience in project management or nonprofit administration while contributing to a meaningful cause. The position requires approximately 10-15 hours of work per week.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with team members to break down their projects into manageable tasks and prioritize them effectively.
    • Help team members establish realistic deadlines and identify strategies to ensure timely completion.
    • Support collaboration among team members as they progress on their individual projects.
    • Stay informed about relevant news, trends, and developments in the nonprofit sector and youth advocacy.
    • Please note: Responsibilities are subject to change according to strategic organization wide decisions; An ideal candidate for this role will be able to work through these changes and not compromise the quality of their work

    Qualifications:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Willingness to learn project management software.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Capability to proactively manage multiple projects.
    • Passion for youth empowerment, social justice, and restructuring systems of power.
