    Description

    STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

    Location: Remote

    Time commitment – 2 meetings per week, 30 minutes each (days and times TBD by group); 1-2 hours per week for planning and execution.

    Description: As a Medical Science Activity and Event Planner, you will be responsible for organizing and managing both virtual and in-person activities related to medical science. This role involves coordinating certification courses, social events, and guest speaker sessions, working collaboratively with committee members to ensure all events run smoothly and meet their intended objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and execute medical science certification courses, handling all logistical details to ensure seamless delivery.

    • Manage and organize social events for academy members, promoting engagement and fostering a sense of community.

    • Plan and schedule guest speaker sessions, ensuring alignment with the academy’s goals and providing valuable content for participants.

    • Work with other committee members to facilitate the smooth operation of events and activities.

    • Ensure effective communication with participants, addressing their needs and ensuring events meet expectations.

    Requirements: 

    • Experience in planning and organizing events, including virtual and in-person formats.

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and details efficiently.

    • Excellent communication skills to interact with committee members and participants.

    • Precision in handling event logistics and ensuring all aspects are addressed.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve successful event outcomes.
