    Description

    Role:

    • Reading Comprehension Guide: Lead engaging lessons to help students develop strong reading comprehension skills. Dive into a variety of texts, including stories, articles, and poems, while guiding students in analyzing the material and understanding key ideas and themes.
    • Creative Writing Coach: Support students in improving their writing by guiding them through narratives, and creative pieces. Help them brainstorm ideas, organize their thoughts, and express themselves clearly through writing.
    • Grammar Expert: Teach the fundamentals of grammar in a fun and interactive way. From punctuation to sentence structure, help students grasp the rules that make writing clear and effective while showing them how grammar fits into their creative work.
    • Vocabulary Builder: Engage students in expanding their vocabulary through fun activities, word games, and reading exercises that help students understand the meaning and usage of new words.
    • Interactive Lesson Leader: Use creative activities, group discussions, and writing prompts to help students connect with what they’re reading and writing. Foster a classroom environment where they feel safe to share ideas, ask questions, and be part of the learning process.
    • Essay Writing Mentor: Provide step-by-step guidance on how to structure essays, focusing on introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions. Help students organize their ideas clearly and improve their writing skills.
    • Literary Explorer: Guide students through a variety of texts, helping them uncover literary elements like theme, character development, and narrative structure while sparking their interest in different genres of literature.
    • Personalized Feedback Provider: Monitor students' progress and provide tailored feedback to help them improve their writing, reading comprehension, and grammar skills. Offer encouragement and constructive advice to foster a love for learning.
    • Parent Communicator: Regularly update parents on their child’s progress, class activities, and strategies for supporting their development at home.
    • Project-Based Learning: Support students as they complete writing projects, reading assignments, and group activities that allow them to apply what they've learned in a creative and practical way.

    Qualifications:

    • ELA Knowledge: Solid understanding of English Language Arts concepts, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. Experience working with kids 8+ is a plus.
    • Teaching Experience: Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably with a focus on reading and writing. Ability to explain concepts in a fun and engaging way that resonates with kids.
    • Virtual Classroom Experience: Comfortable teaching and managing a virtual classroom using online platforms. Ability to create an interactive, engaging learning environment in a virtual setting.
    • Creative & Engaging: Passion for making learning fun! You’ll bring creative lesson plans and activities to help students explore and enjoy reading and writing while developing their skills.
    • Patience & Encouragement: Ability to work with students of various skill levels and provide the support they need to grow in their reading and writing abilities. You’re positive, patient, and ready to encourage each student.
    • Strong Communication Skills: Clear, concise communication is key. You should be able to break down complex concepts into simple, understandable lessons and give constructive feedback to help students improve.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to keep track of assignments, feedback, and class activities. Stay on top of lesson planning and ensure that students are progressing at a steady pace.

    • Adaptability: Adjust lessons and activities based on the needs and interests of students, ensuring all learning styles are catered to in a virtual classroom setting.
    • Time Management: Effectively manage your time and resources to ensure a smooth class experience and ensure students stay on track with their assignments and progress.
