    Job Overview:

    The Grant Writer will play a critical role in supporting the Sacred Connections Community Church's mission by securing essential funding for our programs and initiatives. Reporting directly to the Steward, the Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, writing compelling proposals, and managing the grant application process from start to finish. This position is perfect for a highly motivated individual passionate about philanthropy, eco-regenerative projects, trauma healing, and community building.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Grant Research: Identify and research potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with the Foundation’s mission and goals.
    • Grant Writing: Prepare, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials to secure funding for our programs, including orphanage support, trauma healing initiatives, and eco-regenerative community projects.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the Steward and program staff to gather necessary project details, including budgets, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
    • Grant Reporting: Ensure that all grant requirements and deadlines are met by preparing accurate, timely reports to funders on the progress and outcomes of funded programs.
    • Grant Management: Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines, submissions, and reports. Track and document the status of all applications, including approvals, denials, and renewals.
    • Fundraising Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing a grant strategy that aligns with the Foundation's broader fundraising and program goals.
    • Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with grant officers, foundation representatives, and other stakeholders to enhance the Foundation’s visibility and fundraising potential.
    • Trend Monitoring: Stay informed of trends in non-profit funding, philanthropy, and holistic healing to identify new opportunities for growth.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record of securing funding.
    • Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling proposals.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
    • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting as it relates to grant applications.
    • Understanding of philanthropic and non-profit landscapes, particularly in the areas of trauma recovery, holistic healing, and community development.
    • Proficiency with grant research tools and donor management systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external partners.
    • Passion for the mission of Menzies Philanthropic Foundation and the work we do to support orphaned children, vulnerable families, and holistic healing.
