    Job Description: Volunteer Board Member for The Sole Well Foundation

    Organization Overview:

    The Sole Well Foundation is a newly formed 501(c) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of working single parents in raising their children. We are committed to developing educational, health, career, legal, housing, networking, logistical, transportation and childcare programs and support, including providing micro-grants to eligible single parents.

    This is a Volunteer Only non-paying position with the potential to be salaried position based on organizational milestones

    A long-term commitment is expected with passionate individuals seeking meaningful engagement highly encouraged to apply.

    Location: The majority of initial work will be done in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania but not limited to surrounding states. However, for this role, you may be remote and only asked to commit to physical board meetings and foundation events.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the organization achieves its mission and objectives.
    2. Governance: Uphold fiduciary responsibilities and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
    3. Resource Development: Actively participate in fundraising efforts and support donor stewardship activities.
    4. Advocacy and Outreach: Represent the organization in the community and advocate for its mission and programs.
    5. Committee Participation: Serve on at least one committee (e.g., finance, governance, fundraising) and actively contribute to committee work.
    6. Support and Evaluation: Support the Executive Director and staff, as applicable, and participate in the evaluation of organizational effectiveness and impact.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

    • Experience: Previous experience serving on a non-profit board or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
    • Expertise: Background in project management, community organization, philanthropy, or related fields highly desirable.
    • Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of The Sole Well Foundation.
    • Passion: Genuine passion for making a difference and contributing to the community.
    • Integrity: Commitment to ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of board service.
    • Intention: Not seeking the position solely for networking and/or resume-building purposes.
